7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Hip Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes tackles such pressing issues as misogyny, violence, and homophobia in hip hop, as well as the distorted image of masculinity that rap music portrays to today's youth.  Filmmaker Byron Hurt interviews leading rap and hip-hop artists including Mos Def, Busta Rhymes, Russell Simmons and others to answer difficult questions about the violent and sexually explicit content of many hip-hop songs and videos.
