- State your purpose – why you are writing and who you are.
- Present your argument. Use facts versus emotional appeals. Make a specific reference to the programs we are focusing on:
- Eliminate funding in the 2010 budget for the F-22 Raptor.
- Redirect/Reduce missile defense funds by eliminating $214 million from the airborne laser program, $524 million from the Ground-based Midcourse Defense program, and $283 million from the Multiple Kill Vehicle Program.
- Cancel the manned ground vehicle component of the Army’s Future Combat Systems.
- End future procurement of the DDG-1000.
- Eliminate funding in the 2010 budget for the F-22 Raptor.
- Conclude with a call to action. Ask your Congressperson to maintain the cuts to these weapons systems as requested by the Defense Department and President Obama. And say thank you!
