Needs of Disabled Floridian Child Brazenly Ignored

Kevin Estinfil is a severely disabled 12 year old living in North Miami Beach, Florida. He has cerebral palsy that causes daily seizures and prevents his body from properly controlling its temperature. To stay warm, Kevin's doctors prescribed thermal blankets that would cost about $360 dollars per year.

The Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) rejected Kevin's request and entered into a costly legal battle to keep him from receiving the blankets he needs to maintain his proper body temperature.
